DFID's developement programme in Bolivia 2002-2004

DFID’s programme in Bolivia between 2002-2004 focused on strategic support for the country’s efforts to define and implement plans, programmes and policies aimed at reducing poverty.

DFID’s work in Bolivia concentrated on three key areas:
     • Human rights and social inclusion
     • Pro-poor growth 
     • Pro-poor governance

The initiatives, programmes and institutions supported by DFID in recent years include:
     • Comité de Enlace de Organizaciones de Pequeños Productores (Liaison Committee for Small Producers’ Organisations)
     • Defensor del Pueblo (Office of the People’s Defender)
     • Mecanismo de Control Social (Social Oversight Mechanism)
     • Sistema Boliviano de Tecnología Agropecuaria – SIBTA (Bolivian Agricultural Technology System)
     • Sistema Boliviano de Productividad y Competitividad (Bolivian Productivity and Competitiveness System)
     • Health projects
     • UNIR Foundation: a programme to promote negotiation, deliberation and dialogue
     • Right to Identity Programme
     • Subnational Governance Programme – Ministry of Popular Participation and Federation of Municipal Associations (FAM)
