The British Embassy in Bolivia
If you are planning to enter or transit the United States
We have been informed by the US Embassy in La Paz that UK holders of Temporary Passports, and British passports which do not contain the biometric "chip", will need a visa to enter or transit the US. This measure comes into effect from 1 July.
Online consular registration
British nationals travelling or living in Bolivia can register themselves with the Embassy, and we strongly recommend that you do so! This new service will improve our ability to provide help in crisis situations and give us better information with whom we can liaise with friends and family at home.

Yellow fever certificate
The Bolivian Government announced on 24 June that foreigners entering areas which had been designated "high risk" for yellow fever would need a valid yellow fever certificate. These areas include all of the regions of Santa Cruz, Pando and Beni, and much of Cochabamba, Tarija and northern La Paz departments. The highland region of the country, including the cities of La Paz, Potosi and Oruro, Lake Titicaca and the Salar de Uyuni, is not affected.
