Swine flu in Bolivia

There are confirmed human cases of A-H1N1 Swine Flu in Bolivia.  Most of these have so far been in and around Santa Cruz. The Bolivian authorities are operating checks to monitor for Swine Flu - including at ports of entry and on internal flights - and may quarantine individuals displaying symptoms.  For more information please see the FCO Travel Advice for Bolivia and our Swine Flu pandemic page.

Yellow fever certificate

The Bolivian Government announced on 24 June that foreigners entering areas which had been designated "high risk" for yellow fever would need a valid yellow fever certificate.  These areas include all of the regions of Santa Cruz, Pando and Beni, and much of Cochabamba, Tarija and northern La Paz departments.  The highland region of the country, including the cities of La Paz, Potosi and Oruro, Lake Titicaca and the Salar de Uyuni, is not affected.
