The British Embassy has appointed the new British Honorary Consul in Santa Cruz, Carolina Hanley. The role of the Honorary Consul is to inform the British Embassy in La Paz of any deaths, accidents, hospital cases and detainees of British Nationals in Santa Cruz.

The Honorary Consul is available 24 hours, seven days a week to respond immediately in exceptional circumstances involving British Nationals, such as road/airline accident, terrorism, serious fire, natural disaster, rape and at any other time where it is considered an immediate response to be of the utmost importance.
