The British Embassy in La Paz is situated in an old three-story colonial house on Avenida Arce in the district of San Jorge (if arriving by taxi, ask for the corner of Avenidas Arce and Campos).  The Embassy is small by global standards, only housing three UK-based members of staff and eleven locally-engaged officers.  

General opening hours for the Embassy are: 08:30 to 12:30 and 13:30 to 17:00 Monday-Thursday. On Fridays we open from 08:30 to 13:30.
 
Consular Section: 09:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:30 Monday-Thursday. 09:00-12:00 Fridays

Visa Section:  09:00-10:00  Monday to Friday.

There is no British Council office in Bolivia, and the Department for International Development (DfID) regional office closed in September 2008.
